SOFTNESS - QUALITY - NATURAL MATERIALS - STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® Yaku is a soft, 4-threaded wool yarn, consisting of 100% mulesing free merino wool of high quality. The length is 200 meters per 50 grams. The recommended gauge is 28 sts x 40 rows on a 2.5-3 mm needle. The threads are spun even and dense, which makes Yaku easy to work with when knitting and crocheting, and gives your needlework even stitches and a beautiful surface. Yaku is particularly suitable for baby and children’s clothes, as Yaku is super soft and scratch free. Yaku is superwash treated under the high demands from OEKO-TEX® and can be machine washed on a wool program with wool detergent. Yaku is produced in Peru and is specially designed for CaMaRose. All colours are specially developed for CaMaRose in collaboration with the spinning mill. The spinning mill is buying up the wool from a producer, where 70% of the energy consumption is generated by a VESTAS windmill. The producer’s treatment plant cleans and reuses the water used in the production. Moreover, the producer has landscaped a tree plantation around the treatment plant, which contributes to the cleaning process and absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere. The spinning mill only buys up mulesing free merino fibers and is OEKO-TEX® certified on all their wool products. As many companies in Peru, the spinning mill shows a big social responsibility for its employees, their families and the local society by supporting schools, healthcare and charity. The spinning mill’s high quality requirements for their products, as well as their consideration of environment, animals and people in their production, is the foundation of the collaboration with CaMaRose since 2010. I wish you a lot of fun with YAKU, a CaMaRose yarn, created for you with care. Best wishes, Trine Bertelsen |
